Pool Liner

Pool liners are the waterproof skin inside swimming pools: reinforced coated fabrics welded into panels and fixed to the pool structure, carrying the water load while giving the pool its finished appearance. Compared with tile or plaster finishes, a welded liner installs fast, seals reliably, and can be replaced without demolishing the shell — which is why both new builds and renovation projects increasingly specify liner systems.
What a Good Liner Must Do
Three demands shape the specification. The material must be permanently waterproof, including at every welded seam — seam quality, not sheet quality, causes most liner leaks. It must resist the pool environment: treated water, sunlight on outdoor pools, and temperature swings, which calls for a PVC compound with stabilized plasticizers rather than a general-purpose coating. And it must tolerate the mechanical side — point loads underfoot, cleaning equipment, and the tension of fitting to the pool geometry — where base fabric tear strength carries the load.
Selection Points for Contractors

Choose reinforcement appropriate to pool size; larger pools need higher tensile and tear values.
Confirm weld compatibility with your fabrication equipment (hot air, hot wedge, or high frequency).
Check the compound’s resistance to pool chemicals and UV for outdoor installations.
Agree pattern and colour early — printed and plain finishes both exist, and lead times differ.
